Daniel Webster Distinguished Public Service Award

The Dartmouth Club of Washington, DC annually bestows the Daniel Webster Distinguished Service Award on members of the Dartmouth family who honor Dartmouth through distinguished public service. Our Webster Awards page lists the recipients to date.


Book Awards

The Dartmouth Club of Washington, DC awards a copy of a book by a famous Dartmouth author such as A Reader's Delight, by Professor of English Noel Perrin, or A River Runs Through It, by Norman Maclean '24, to approximately 70 Juniors from local high schools. The students are selected by their school principals, guidance counselors and/or teachers for their intellectual distinction and academic performance.


Scholarship Fund

The Dartmouth Club of Washington, DC is proud to contribute to the education of two local student at Dartmouth through its Scholarship Fund. The scholarship recipients are selected for their intellectual distinction, academic performance and financial need. Our club has raised over $60,000 for the Dartmouth Scholarship Fund through the Daniel Webster Public Service Award event, ski trips, donations and an annual golf outing over the years. As of our last report, our scholarship fund had a market value of $276,580.40 and last year distributed $17,034.08 of income to support scholarships for two local undergrads. We are only $10,000 away from being able to endow a third scholarship, and we hope, with your support, to raise that money within the next year. All contributions are tax deductible and are acknowledged at the annual Webster Award dinner.
