Mentoring Dartmouth students in DC
|
|
We have received a call to action from the Rockefeller Center. This summer the Rockefeller Center is launching a new program in Washington, DC as part of its First-Year Initiative. Click here to see a letter (PDF format) from Professor Andrew Samwick, director of the Rockefeller Center, which lays out details of this innovative program. He calls on us to serve as Mentors to first-year students who will be selected as First-Year Fellows. The students will be brought to Washington, DC at the beginning of the summer for an intensive Civic Skills Training program. Following the program, it is hoped that the students will be placed in summer public policy internships with Dartmouth alumni in Washington, DC. Please read the letter and give serious consideration to becoming a First-Year Fellowship Mentor. All necessary contact information is included in the letter.

We want to hear from you–bring us your ideas for events or let us know how you want to help. Volunteering for
the club is a great way to use and develop professional skills in technology, customer relations, finance,
marketing, promotion, design, journalism, product development and management. We are particularly in need of
help planning the annual Webster public service award dinner. If you would like
to volunteer in any capacity, drop in on one of our monthly meetings or contact Club President Derek Symer
at 301-942-6817 or
to get location information and directions.
